Papua New Guinea Kindeng

Papua New Guinea (PNG) is a unique island nation, situated on the eastern reaches of the Indonesian archipelago. Home to nearly 7 million people with 800 different languages – Papaua New Guinea is truly a nation secluded from the rest of the world, and a land of tribes.

This lot comes from the Kindeng Estate, a 350-hectare coffee farm that was started back in the 1960s. The slanting slopes were actually planted with coffee by missionaries nearly 110 years ago. But an Australian businessman named Walter Carpenter took over the land in the 60s. His work and dedication led to its success. In the early 2000s, the Estate had a shift in ownership and is now managed by Carpenter Estates.

Fully washed Typica from the Jiwaka region this coffee has notes of dried fig, dark chocolate, and fruit leather. Roasted light this coffee is ideal for drip coffee or espresso.
